Motives….Check your Heart!

I have had many opportunities where strife and chaos has tunneled its way into my life. Not because that is the type of person that I am but because of the type of people that crossed my path in life.

The Bible has much to say about strife, lies and confusion:

Proverbs Chapter 6

16 These six [things] doth the LORD hate: yea, seven [are] an abomination unto him:

17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,

18An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,

19A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

James 3:16 | View whole chapter | See verse in contextFor where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.

Proverbs 16:28 | View whole chapter | See verse in contextA froward man soweth strife: and a whisperer separateth chief friends.

Proverbs 28:25 | View whole chapter | See verse in contextHe that is of a proud heart stirreth up strife: but he that putteth his trust in the LORD shall be made fat.

Philippians 2:3 | View whole chapter | See verse in contextLet nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.

Proverbs 29:22 | View whole chapter | See verse in contextAn angry man stirreth up strife, and a furious man aboundeth in transgression.

James 3:14 | View whole chapter | See verse in contextBut if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.

Proverbs 17:1 | View whole chapter | See verse in contextBetter is a dry morsel, and quietness therewith, than an house full of sacrifices with strife.

Now, for God to say that He HATES something then that means that it is something very ugly because God is about love and peace.

Strife starts out so simple.  Someone sees  you happy with your friend, or family member or coworker.  But, because their heart is subject to the spirit of jealousy, envy and strife, that person find ways to manipulate other people just to start up confusion, chaos and strife.  And once that fire starts nothing good comes out of it. People lose their reputation, their jobs and you name it.

I have experienced many loses because of these things.  I would encourage anyone and everyone to examine your heart and see if something so ugly lives in there and if it does, I would encourage you to make a commitment to get it out.

The World is black enough.  Let’s not be a part of destroying anyone.  It is enough happening in the World to do that without our help of hurting our neighbors, family or friends!

In the Name of Peace!
