The Trials of Life!

“Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.”
1 Corinthians 9:24 (KJV)

And so God has much to say in the Bible about life being compared to running a race.

What does it take to be a runner? I believe that the foremost quality that you need is ENDURANCE.

Webster’s Simple Definition of endurance
: the ability to do something difficult for a long time
: the ability to deal with pain or suffering that continues for a long time
: the quality of continuing for a long time

: the ability to withstand hardship or adversity; especially : the ability to sustain a prolonged stressful effort or activity <a marathon runner’s endurance
: the act or an instance of enduring or suffering <endurance of many hardships

Ecclesiastes 9:11
I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.

Psalms 30:5
For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.

2 Timothy 2:3
Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.

Hebrews 12:2
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

James 1:12
Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.

For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.

So no matter how hard circumstances or trials are right now, know that you are in His Hands and He is watching over you and will bring you through to the end of the race. So Endure and Hold on just a little while longer!

All Wars End!
