I have never been a soldier before but in my mind I can only imagine what life is like on the front line of a battle within a war. Paul tells Timothy 3 therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. 4 No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.
I can imagine a soldier on the battlefield during an intense time of fighting.
I can imagine that if the soldiers get a chance to sleep, it is a very small nap that at any given moment could be a shot or bomb that take their lives.
They don’t have a comfortable bed to sleep in. If they get a chance to eat, I’m sure it’s not what most of us would even attempt to eat today and I’m sure that they have to eat it with one hand on the weapon and the other hand hoping to get some food down.
I can imagine that they don’t have time to worry about what favorite show is playing on TV and worry about if the TV is Flat Screen, HD, Mounted up on the wall.
So this is just a few of the many hardships that Soldiers have to endure during the time of war. And so as soldiers of the Lord Jesus Christ we must expect that we will have many trials and test that causes hardships in our lives to test or remove our faith.
If you lose your job, your home, your family or many other things, do we keep fighting the good fight of the faith war or do we get angry and blame God. If we don’t get angry at him and blame him, we choose to deny that He exist any longer.
Regardless of what comes to test us in this life, we MUST hold on as the good Soldiers do in battle. We must fight until we can’t fight anymore. And the beauty of our fight is that we don’t have to fight, all we have to do is Fight the good fight of faith by simply STANDING on the Word of God and BELIEVING Him and His Word because the battle has already been won.
Just meditate on that for a moment!
